lifestyle
Many of
us would like to develop healthier lifestyles but lack the
knowledge and opportunity to do so and end up with health
conditions, disorders or diseases which could have been at
least delayed or even prevented but we didn't know any better and
that's not okay. Lots of us will have tried diets and found they
just do not work and many of us have tried going to a gym, leisure
centre or fitness club but have found them to be unwelcoming,
judgemental and intimidating and lacking in any suitable products
nonetheless we do still want to be healthier and fitter and live
better and longer lives as a result. The Low Road has been
developed to help people like this develop and maintain healthier
lifestyles for the long term by providing them with the
knowledge and opportunity to stay healthy and not become 'old'.
Implementing a healthy lifestyle is also at least part of the
treatment for a wide range of health issues so whatever you're
health status we may be able to help.
The Low
Road is a fitness for health practice aimed at the unfit, less fit,
individuals with weight issues, people with or at risk of getting
health conditions (like diabetes) and older members of the
community and beyond in fact anyone (in principle) who would
benefit from low-to-moderate intensity exercise and/or behaviour
change support. Making long term behaviour changes can be hard but
they may be necessary to develop and implement a healthy lifestyle.
It is often the case that changes to diet and physical activity
levels are required but it is the change in mind-set that is key.
To be healthy you need to want to be healthier and believe you can
be. The Low Road will provide the knowledge and information you
need as well as offering the opportunity to exercise in a
structured, supervised, supportive, safe, fun and social
environment where you will feel very much at home. Help, advice and
support is available too from someone who has very much walked in
your shoes; made major behaviour changes; and reaped the
benefits.
